Service Tracking Module:

Gaming machine servicing is an essential component of any gaming machine operation. Once outside of the manufacturer’s warranty machine service problems can be extremely varied and expensive to remedy. Regular maintenance of machines is useful but this also comes at a cost.

Gaming machine operators rely entirely on their service providers to honestly bill them only for the goods, services and time required to rectify a machine fault. Up until now there has been very few checks and balances available to operators to ensure that this honesty billing system is not abused. The potential for abuse is real and this presents a big problem for operators. Smart Operator’s Service Tracking Module will solve this problem.

In conjunction with the Key Registry Module the Service Tracking Module will log everything a service technician does at the venue to remedy a fault. Every part of the service call is dated and time stamped by the Service Tracking Module software for future reference. A typical service tracking log could be:

Date & time -  Fault recorded eg “EGM 18 Low NV Ram Battery”
Date & time -  Email advice sent to service provider re fault via Smart Operator Service Agent Management Module
Date & time -  Technician attends venue and arrival time is logged via Smart Operator’s Key Registry Module as he collects/signs out machine keys

Smart Operator’s Service Tracking Module will log the following:

Date & time -  EGM 18 Main Door Opened
Date & time -  EGM 18 Processor Door Opened
Date & time -  EGM 18 Processor Power off
Date & time -  EGM 18 Processor Power On
Date & time -  EGM 18 Processor Door Closed
Date & time -  EGM 18 Main Door closed
Date & time -  EGM 18 All faults cleared

Date & time -  Technician returns and signs EGM keys back to venue operator At this point the service job is finished and the technician’s time and parts used are known and logged.

TOTAL TIME TAKEN TO COMPLETE THIS SERVICE CALL WAS: [total time]

A report of this service call can be forwarded to the gaming machine operator for comparison with the service invoice provided by the service provider, including the total time to complete the service call.

In this way gaming machine operators can be assured that they are only paying for the actual time taken to remedy a fault in one of their venues. Service providers can also use this information to check that their technicians are performing efficiently and not wasting time in venues with non service related matters.

As machines increase in age their servicing costs also increase. Smart Operator’s Service Tracking Module guarantees that you only pay for what you get and you get what you pay for!
